Removable Aligners
12 Month Average Treatment Time
Suresmile is a revolutionary orthodontic option that offers patients a stress-free treatment without wires, brackets, and rubber bands. Clear aligners are virtually invisible when worn, removable for brushing and flossing, and require much less time in the dentist’s chair for treatment.
Suresmile aligners are made of thin plastic that is completely invisible when worn, and they do not affect your speech or appearance.
Suresmile is very comfortable compared to braces. There are no metal wires or brackets to poke your mouth, and your teeth are corrected with gentle, even pressure.
It’s easier to brush, floss, and keep your teeth healthy with Suresmile. Since you remove your aligners to eat, there are no dietary restrictions.
Suresmile is an alternative to traditional braces. Instead of rubber bands, brackets, and wires, this treatment uses a series of clear plastic aligners that look similar to a retainer or a night guard. They are built to gently shift your teeth into the proper position as you swap through multiple sets. Over time, the pressure the aligners place on your teeth will move them into the correct alignment, just like braces.
The process begins with a consultation at Oakbrook Dental. Dr. Major or Dr. Patel will perform a comprehensive oral exam to determine whether you are a good candidate for Suresmile. Once you’re approved for treatment, we will take impressions and images of your teeth, and work closely with the Invisalign team to develop your customized treatment plan.
When your aligners are ready, you’ll pick them up from our office and begin wearing them! Usually, you will wear them for 20-22 hours per day and switch to a new set every 2 weeks.
Every 4-6 weeks, you will come into our office for a check-up and to pick up your next several sets of aligners. You’ll repeat this process until your treatment is complete.
Most Suresmile patients need somewhere between 20-24 sets of aligners to correct their smile. This means the average treatment time is about a year. However, this depends on the specifics of your case. Every patient is different, so your treatment time may be shorter or longer.
